COVID-19: Coronavirus Prevention for Care Providers [Infographic]

The COVID-19 coronavirus continues to spread in Europe, with hundreds of people diagnosed in the UK. A coronavirus is a common upper respiratory tract infection, which may be accompanied by fever, coughing and breathing difficulties. COVID-19 is a novel strand, first identified in Wuhan, China, in 2019.

Common symptoms resembles those of a flu, including coughing and a fever. The virus can be dormant for up to two weeks, and carriers may remain asymptomatic. The main line of defence against it is washing your hands several times per day. If you believe you or someone you know may be infected, it is advised that you contact NHS 111 instead of visiting a GP, pharmacy or hospital.

As the elder population, as well as those with serious chronic illnesses are more at risk, we have put together an infographic outlining the guidelines set in place by Public Health England to combat the spreading of the virus in care facilities.
