October 2020 Carer of the Month

It’s time to announce the latest winner of our Carer of the Month award! This month’s contest was very competitive, with so many great nominations from care services across the country.

Last month we gave the award to Kelly Johnston, who dusted off her hairstylist skills and gave her residents salon-worthy trims!

Our October winner has also gone above and beyond for her service users – working over-time and lending a hand in the kitchen when she gets a spare moment. Enough of the suspense, let’s have a round of applause for…

Veena Munraj from Broadlands Residential Care Home 🥳

Veena was nominated by her colleague Aisha Morrell for her incredible hard work and positivity this month. Veena’s can-do approach and positivity have been a shining light at Broadlands Residential Care Home.

“With our home largely locked down since March and two COVID outbreaks morale is low, but Veena is usually smiling and residents have no idea how hard she’s working underneath her calm smiles. First on and last home every shift means she sets a great example to others who might be struggling and she never fails to amaze me with her resilience,” said Aisha.

A real multi-tasker

Veena took on 9 overtime shifts in October and helped out in the kitchen when she had free time. She also assisted with meds changeover during her lunch breaks and trained her colleagues on how to use the Log my Care app and has become a pro at it herself!
