Everything you need to know about updated visiting guidelines, plus a handy checklist ☑️

The government has just released new visiting guidelines for care homes across the nation. The guidance applies from March 8 2021. It contains everything you need to get visits back up and running in your care service.

We know how stressful things have been lately and this guidance from the government is long overdue. To make things a bit easier, we’ve had our team of experts read the 8,000-word document and summarise the key findings in a handy packet for you.

It includes recommendations for testing regimens, social distancing measures, PPE use and other infection control measures. Additionally, it’s got information on what to do in the event of a new COVID-19 outbreak in your home.

Furthermore, we’ve built in a checklist so you and your team can be sure you’re prepared for visitors starting today. ?

Our guidance includes:

  • Visiting policy summary – we read the document and pulled out the key findings and important updates so you don’t have to.
  • A 10 point checklist – use this checklist as a guide to making sure you’re fully prepared for family and friends visiting your service

We hope this guidance helps you feel confident and prepared to begin welcoming visitors to your care service again. If you feel there is a resource we’re missing, ping us a message and we’ll look into creating it for you.
